Procedures

  1. Pour the milk into a small saucepan and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the rolled oats to the warm milk, stirring to ensure they are fully coated and submerged.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the milk from scorching on the bottom of the pan.
  4. Monitor the texture—remove the oats from the heat once they are tender and have absorbed nearly all of the milk.
  5. Allow the oats to cool for about 3–5 minutes; they should be warm but not steaming hot to prevent the yogurt from curdling or becoming too runny.
  6. Wash and slice the strawberries into bite-sized pieces or thin rounds while the oats are cooling.
  7. Gently stir the yogurt into the thickened oats until the mixture is creamy and uniform in color.
  8. Adjust the consistency—if the mixture is too thick for your preference, add a small splash of cold milk or a bit more yogurt.
  9. Transfer to a bowl and arrange the fresh strawberry slices generously over the top.
  10. Serve immediately while the oats are still slightly warm and the yogurt is fresh.
