Ingredients
- Rolled oats – 80g
- Milk – 480mL
- Cocoa powder – 30g
- Sugar – 20g
Procedures
- Pour the milk into a medium saucepan and bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- Add the rolled oats to the warm milk, stirring immediately to ensure they are well-distributed.
- Reduce the heat to low to prevent the milk from scorching or boiling over the sides of the pan.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring frequently to create a creamy texture and to keep the milk from sticking to the bottom.
- Sift the cocoa powder into the mixture (or whisk it in vigorously) to prevent any bitter chocolate clumps from forming.
- Add the sugar and stir continuously until both the cocoa and sugar are fully dissolved into the oats.
- Continue to simmer for 1–2 minutes until the oats have absorbed most of the liquid and the mixture is a deep, uniform chocolate color.
- Check the consistency—if the oats are too thick, stir in a small splash of extra milk until the porridge is silky.
- Remove from heat once the oats are tender and the chocolate aroma is strong.
- Serve warm in a bowl, perhaps topped with a few fresh berries or a dollop of peanut butter.
